Freshman applicants must submit official secondary school mark sheets and diploma. All documents must be originals or copies certified by the school principal or controller of examinations and sealed in a school envelope. Documents not in English must be translated by a certified translator. If your first language is not English, official English proficiency scores must be submitted directly to the International Programs Office from the testing center. To be considered for admission to ISU, international students applying as new undergraduates must meet the following academic requirements:
Have graduated from a high school or secondary school with satisfactory grades, received a diploma or certificate of graduation, and be eligible for admission to a major university in the country from which they graduated.
Have at least a 2.25 GPA.
TOEFL iBT: 61, Paper: 500, Computer: 173, IELTS- 5.5 overall score OR a minimum 5.0 in ALL subscores

Surveying and Geomatics Engineering Technology is an exciting program that offers an excellent educational environment with the latest in computers, software and surveying equipment used in the office and outdoors. Program courses and projects utilize modern technologies such, total stations, 3D scanners, satellite technologies, Unmanned Aerial Systems and sonar for mapping, measuring and data processing. You will use the same type of equipment being used by the companies/agencies that hire you. To declare a major in Surveying and Geomatics Engineering Technology, a student must have completed an AAS Degree in Civil Engineering Technology at ISU or equivalent, or have permission of the program coordinator. Students will meet with an advisor prior to the third year of the program to declare the major. Graduates of the Surveying and Geomatics Engineering Technology program will: Have the basic math and science knowledge and technical skills of the Surveying and Geomatics Engineering Technology discipline appropriate to enter careers in the geospatial community, for example, boundary surveying and legal principles, route and construction surveying, survey measurement analysis and adjustments, Global Positioning System (GPS), photogrammetry, geodesy, land/Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and 3D scanning. Have the ability to execute surveying/geomatics project activities for delivery in response to the needs of private and public industry. Have appropriate understanding of standards and specifications of surveying/geomatics practices in analyzing positional accuracy of measurement systems and in preparing land records and plats by meeting legal requirements. Have the knowledge to pass the national Fundamentals of Surveying and PS exams, and after gaining experience, be qualified to take the Professional Surveying License Exams with an understanding of continued lifelong learning. Have an understanding of the professional, ethical and social issues with commitment to quality and dependability.
