GPA score of 3.0 or higher out of 4.0 in upper-level undergraduate work or 3.3 or higher out of 4.0 in master's program
GRE is not required.
Three letters of recommendation in the forms provided in the online application portal.
International graduate student applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit a score for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A total score of 80 on the iBT TOEFL or 6.5 overall on the IELTS is required.
Credentials of all other applicants will be examined by the Graduate Admission Committee on a case by case basis. In addition to the departmental requirements, all students must satisfy the University's Graduate Policies and Procedures.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers a variety of courses leading to master's and doctoral degrees in EE and CpE. The comprehensive interests and expertise of our faculty lead to a synergistic connection between these two degrees. Students may select courses based on their academic interests and career goals. Satisfy all university requirements for a doctoral degree degree. Complete at least 75 credit hours beyond a bachelor's degree. A maximum of 30 credits of course work earned in a master's degree in electrical or computer engineering from FIU or other accredited institution may be counted toward the Ph.D.<br>an ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.<br>an ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.<br>an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.<br>an ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
