A minimum 3.00 grade point average (GPA) in a completed undergraduate degree program
Minimum required scores is 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, 80 on the internetbased TOEFL (iBT) or 6.5 overall on the IELTS.
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Minimum of 3.0 GPA based on a 4.0 scale in the last 60 credits of the bachelor's degree.
Cumulative 3.0 GPA for all prerequisite courses with the minimum grade indicated. All of the prerequisite courses listed below must be successfully completed before the start of the Fall semester.
Abnormal Psychology: earning 3 credits with a C or higher
Human Growth & Development: earning 3 credits with a C or higher
Biology with Lab: earning 4 credits with a C or higher
Statistics: earning 3 credits with a C or higher
Medical Terminology: earning 1-3 credits with a C or higher
Pathology: earning 3 credits with a B or higher
Human Physiology**: earning 3 credits with a B or higher
Neuroscience (3000 level or higher) earning 3 credits with a B or higher
Human Anatomy and Lab (3000 level or higher): earning 4 credits with a B or higher
Applicants with 3 of the 4 courses highlighted in red completed by the application deadline will be given priority for review and potential admission.
Anatomy & Physiology I & II with Lab at the 2000 Level will meet the biology and physiology requirements only.
OTH 4418 Neuroscience is offered by the FIU OT department every semester.
All prerequisite courses must be taken within 5 years of the application deadline.
All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to the start of the Fall admission term.
Complete OTCAS application by the deadline with all required information: biographical information, a personal essay, 3 names for references, work experience, activities, accomplishments and recognitions, and other pertinent information.
Complete the FIU Graduate School application by the deadline with all required information. You will need to send official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended directly to the FIU Graduate School in addition to those required by OTCAS.
Take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and submit scores to FIU Graduate School by the application deadline (School Code: 5206). Applicants who wish to send GRE scores to OTCAS can submit additional reports to school code 2707 (submission to FIU Graduate School, code 5206, still required). We do not have a minimum score requirement, HOWEVER, competitive applicants score at or above 295 on the combined verbal and quantitative sections and 3.5 on the writing section.

From childhood development to the aging workforce and beyond, FIU occupational therapists are leading the way to help people overcome physical, cognitive and psychosocial dysfunctions to achieve richer, functioning lives. <br>FIU's entry-level professional Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MS-OT) at the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences is designed for students who hold a baccalaureate degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university to become occupational therapists.<br>The 2.5-year, full-time program (including summers) combines intensive hands-on instruction, an advanced curriculum, fieldwork and research opportunities for a comprehensive learning experience. The first five semesters are focused on didactic courses and introductory fieldwork, with the last two engaged in Level II fieldwork experiences.
