For all applicants we require official transcripts from all previously attended institutions. Transcripts to be considered official must come in a sealed envelope directly from the issuing institution.
A minimum 3.00 grade point average (GPA) in a completed undergraduate degree program
International graduate student applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit a score for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A total score of 80 on the IBT TOEFL or 6.5 overall on the IELTS is required.

The Linguistics Program offers a certificate acknowledging that a student has demonstrated competence in coursework pertaining to the study of linguistics. This certificate is designed to meet the needs of those who have a general interest in linguistics studies, as well as those for who work in linguistics would assist in career planning or advancement.<br><br>Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to earn the certificate. A student can acquire a Certificate in Linguistic Studies by successfully completing at least six courses in linguistics or linguistics-related courses, totaling eighteen credit hours.
