Complete your GetAcceptd submission application to the School of Music. If you pass this pre-screening process you will be invited to a live audition.
Organized auditions are held three times per year, but can be scheduled at other times throughout the year upon request. Applicants who wish to be considered for University merit-based scholarships should attend the November audition date. Theory and history placement tests will be given during organized audition days.
Official TOEFL (minimum score 550 paper-based, or 213 computer-based, or 80 internet-based) or IELTS (minimum 6.5).

The program is constructed to prepare the successful candidate for a myriad of conducting possibilities. The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of the music for winds, brass and percussion coupled with a passion for conducting. Each candidate will have a large number of conducting opportunities with the Symphonic Band, Chamber Winds and Wind Ensemble, with close observation and mentorship from Dr. Alston and Professor Bernhardt. Graduates of the FIU Wind Conducting Program hold positions in some of the finest High School and University Band Programs in the country.
