课程简介
The School of Music offers students who have demonstrated talent in music the opportunity to continue further study either for a profession or an avocation and at the same time acquire a broad general education. Complete sequences of courses are given to prepare a student for a career as a teacher or supervisor of music in the elementary/secondary schools, for a career directed toward composition, the music technology industry, private teaching, or concert work, or, for a thorough training in music within the structure of a broad liberal arts curriculum. All college performances, lectures, and large gatherings are cancelled or postponed until further notice. This applies to all events in our academic units as well as Montana Repertory Theatre performances and Montana Museum of Art and Culture and Montana Media Lab events. If an event can be transitioned to remote delivery it can continue in that format. If an event can be rescheduled we will do so, however at this time it is uncertain when campus events will resume.

The Brass Program at The University of Montana is a premier comprehensive program, where players learn excellence through private instruction and outstanding performance opportunities. Students have the opportunity to perform in several outstanding ensembles including: the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Grizzly Marching Band, Symphony Orchestra, three Jazz Bands, several Jazz Combos, Missoula Symphony Orchestra, and chamber groups. Each year the UM Brass Department hosts nationally and internationally renowned clinicians and performers from around the world.
